My Grandma and Grandpa decided to stock their pond with trout again this year, and the whole fam went along to help. The problem is that the pond is in the middle of the pasture and the hatchery's huge rig would not be able to drive down to it. So my brilliant, engineer, Grandpa filled one of the portable stock tanks with water and loaded it onto a little trailer that his four-wheeler can pull. We would have to go quickly because the fish can only live in the bucket a short time before they deplete all the oxygen and die.

So we filled the stock tank quickly and set off down the pasture, the only problem is that fish like to jump, especially when they are being sloshed around anyway. So I had to run along next to the trailer holding a large piece of plywood over the tank so that they couldn't jump out...not easy.
We made it down to the pond, and dumped all the fish, who happily swam away. Now we can enjoy feeding them every night and fishing during the day.
When my Grandma called the hatchery to order them she said the man (who is some kind of distant relative) kept laughing during their conversation, and she couldn't figure out why. So when they came for the delivery she asked him what had been so funny, and why couldn't he stop laughing. He replied that their minimum order for delivery is usually 350 fish. The reason it's so funny is that she only wanted 24, but somehow he agreed to bring them. I have no idea how she gets people to accommodate her all the time.
